Default which oil for the c-dale

The word I got from the source was that for production, they use Maxima MTL 80 in the trans and Golden Spectro 10-40 in the engine. It's the R&D guys that have a penchant for the Redline oils- that's what they use.

I use Maxima in engine and trans. My 97 Warrior was born on Maxima. When I tore it down, the cylinder walls, rings, cam and rockers wer all in excellent shape after a LOT of hours. For that reason and the factories use, I stuck with Maxima.

talked with cannondale yesterday and they did not recomend any car motor oil (like mobile one). i suggested that and they said they recommend redline 10w-40 for the engine and 80/80w for the trans. fully synthetic or semi synthetic. any four wheeler oil would do (golden spectro, etc...) what is the prices yaw are paying for the oils?/ like redline?

depending on who you know, for redline you will pay anywhere from $5 a quart to $10 a quart for either tranny or engine oil.
