Default Clutch cable question

I broke my clutch cable today on my 02 Cannibal. Bought one from a quad shop who used to sell Cannondale's but the clutch cable was 5-6" too short comparing it to my broken stock clutch cable. Mine is the non-hydraulic clutch. The X-dealer swears it was suppose to fit but it was obvious it was not going to fit. Anyone else had problems matching up clutch cables? Not sure if I can trust the parts listing on C'dales web site or not. They also said they were almost positive all the cables were the same on the C'dales that have the non-hydraulic clutches.

Default Clutch cable question

Hey brian, when i broke my cable this spring the new one was shorter and came with new routing instructions. It will no longer pass through the radiator shroud, but up and over the top of the radiator. It was a small hassle to finally get the routing right.
I've had a cable on back order for several weeks now. Just wanted to have a spare on hand. any chance the shop you found has another?

He's still got the one I returned to him. It was $20, it's at Little Sahara in Oklahoma but I can't remember the name of the shop but if you search for little saraha state park, I believe his quad shop is listed on there. Thanks for the info, I guess I'll try to get another one because little sahara is 3 hours away.

So I'm assuming we can no longer get the length that came stock on our quads? It has to be one of these that's 5-6"'s shorter?

Default Clutch cable question

When mine broke at Bud's Creek the C-dale rep was there and took one from Nac's racing. There are two different lenghts, he told me that. I called Nac's to order one and they said they had no idea what I was talking about, wanted a deposit and wouldn't swear it would be the right one !!

Default Clutch cable question

I figured out what's going on with this clutch cable. Cannondale now has one cable, it's shorter than our original ones. They have a parts bulletin on this on their web site, it's PB02-001. Ryanstones was correct, the parts bulleting illustrates how to reroute the cable over the radiator, thus allowing the shorter cable to reach and work. I wish I knew that a few days ago!!

Sorry I haven't visited in a while, but I was having the same problem a couple of weeks back. Takes a little finess, but it works fine when done.
