Default nerf bars

I am trying to decide which nerf bars to get for my 02 cannibal. I have seen some that come with an aluminum heel guard. Its hard to tell from the pics on the net but that seems to look like a more natural fit than the ones that just bump up against the cannondale plastic heel guard. Any opinions? Please excuse the double post.

The factory nerfs come with a footpeg that the is the propeg style where the nerfbar is part of the foot peg and if it doesn't come with the heal guards you can trim your factory plastic ones to bolt up. The problem is the one mount for the heal guards tends to break on the frame with this set up. Another choice is the AC propeg I think they come with aluminum heal guards. The problem with these are the earlier ones were a pain to put on. Graydon also makes nerfs for the dales but I don't know much about them. IMO I'd go with the ACs if they fixed the fitting problem the raised back end of them just looks a little nicer then the straight factory ones.

IMO the AC's are the way to go. I did alot of shopping before chosing the AC Pro Pegs. They offer the most net coverage. The Moto nets do not come as close to the engine as the AC's do. I would end up getting my foot wedged down in between the nets and the engine. I did end up taking off the aluminum kick plates. They just acted like a shelf for mud. I have heard of people breaking fenders without the support, but I haven't had a problem yet. Check out my pics.

I'd go with the graydons. They were real easy to put on, and didnt have problems like some of the others. I just took off my heel guards. As long your not too much of a squirrel at riding, you dont need them. I think it looks better too!
