Would it be wise?????????

Earlier I said I would never sell the Dale, but after talking to David and doing a lot of thinking, would it be wise to keep the Dale? I mean, it'll be hard as hell to get OEM parts and just how long would the aftermarket really even make parts for a "limited production" quad that isn't offered anymore? People will refer back to the R, but it has always had more aftermarket parts available and was in production for 4 years. The C-dales barely even saw their 3rd year. A LOT of R's were sold, not that many Dales. So I have a feeling the aftermarket won't be around for the Dales that much, so would it even be wise to keep the Dale? I REALLY don't want to sell it, but if OEM parts are next to impossible to find and the aftermarket will probably end up being EXPENSIVE, than a 17 y/o in school and taking college classes is not gonna get real far in the racing world. I need some serious advise. Set aside any brand loyalty, and just tell me what you HONESTLY think would be the best choice for me.

I will be honest I am worried about parts availabilty for the motor.Everything else wont be a problem.I cant tell you to sell it because I dont believe most would give you what it is actually worth.I ordered some critical parts that will give me at least another year.Hopefully I will get them.I would do all the updates and just enjoy riding it as long as possible.I hope this financing they got today will allow them to make a hole bunch of spare parts. And we can hope the motorsports div gets sold.

IMO, I would sell as quick as possible. Who is going to buy a company that is bound to go. The only reason they bought the bicycle part is that it is the part that has potential to make money as you can see from following years. The motor division was doomed from day one. And remember this is only my opinion based on the facts and common sense.

Well 350mx, you got short-handed on common sense...and the ability to read and comprehend.....The quad line JUST started taking off. There is PLENTY of potenial for the Motorsports division. They have the right idea! They built what the American public wanted...and they just about had her licked.....

I'm going to just hold my seat. I've had indications that good things are going to happen with motorsports.
The Indy show might just be the right timing for a big announcement. Who would buy if you were selling? Nobody i can think of. Worst case: Motorsports is flat dead, reduced demand, Used parts and quads might be plentiful for a while. No race quad lasts forever anyway, so we ought to be able to keep em running for several years and get our money's worth out of them.
I've been trying to decide what i would buy to replace my 'dale and with repect to the Z and polaris and raptor....i wouldn't want to ride anything but my 'bull.

Think you all should look how many Dales are showing up on Ebay! I dont think its a bad idea to sell now like everyone says how bout OEM parts? And if they do come thru buy another and have peice of mind that maybe this time you'll have a company thats still there and maybe without all the recalls and breakdowns...just my 2cents

If I was you I would keep. You most likely couldn't get what it is worth, especially if they do go under. It is a great quad and you like it. If parts do get hard to come by if may be woth just as much for parts, later down the road.
I thought I read somewhere that Dale would have to keep parts available for 10 years. I guess that would be hard to do if they are broke though.
I believe they will be bought out by another company. It would be a great deal for a company to get into quads, heck the R&D is already done. Looks like a great opportunity for maybe Arctic Cat, they went through the same thing a few years back and Suzuki took over roughly 40% of them. Their quads out sold their sleds this year and they need a sport quad. Just a thought.
I would still keep it though, just my opinion.

jvc400ex, You are right about the American public thing, but they didn't want to have to pay 7000- 12,500 for it. And as for as cannondale just taking off, so was the plane my uncle died on. It went up about 100ft then crashed. Same for the cannondale.
