Yes, Buell is a Harley company. Maybe, they thought it would be safer to put the Cannondales under Buell. To not have another war between the road guys and the dirt guys that what happened at Cannondale.

I don't know, it's all speculation though. Hopefully this is the case. I think the Cannons would do good under Buell.

BETHEL, Conn. (Dow Jones)--Bike manufacturer Cannondale Corp. (NasdaqNM:BIKE - News) announced Thursday it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Earlier this week the company, citing difficulties at its motorsports operations, announced its intent to file for bankruptcy.

In a press release Thursday Cannondale said the bankruptcy court approved the interim post-petition financing from its creditors CIT Group/Business Credit Inc. and Pegasus Partners II LP. That financing will be used to pay vendors for goods and services received after the filing.

Pegasus has agreed to sell almost all of Cannondale's assets. The bid, however, is subject to higher and better offers at an auction expected to occur in mid-March, said the company.

Cannondale's foreign units, which accounted for about 42% of the company's total sales in fiscal 2002, will not be included in the bankruptcy, said the company in the press release.

Separately the bike maker said the first group of workers, who had been idled after a recent shutdown at the company's Bedford, Penn., bike factory, will resume production in two weeks. A second group of employees is slated to return in early March.
