You're as dumb as I thought. Who cares what's written here on these forums. I am not sending these current writings to anyone to try to validate a point. If your gonna to try to sound as though you know what your talking about, regarding a specific topic, at the very least make them believe you have half a brain by proofreading.

And when you're blasting someone for a mistake you should be careful what you do.....I like how the "it doesn't matter here" attitude comes in when the finger is pointed back at you.
You took the first shot my friend....I just finished it by pointing out your own ineptness. And while I may not be the smartest person around here, I am not free of mistakes, those were simple errors that any editor worth their salt will/can correct.....if it's that way it is in the copy I sent.
Now, back to the original intent....
What have you done or anyone else to try and get the attention focused where it should be?
I have contacted my state and federal representatives on several occassions concerning ATV's and laws concerning them, land issues, safety training programs and other items not directly related to ATV's.
So what have you (anyone) done lately?

"If your gonna to try to?" "your" instead of "you're?" Someone needs to practice what they preach!!! How are you going to confront someone about making grammatical errors, when you've made quite a few yourself? Newspapers have EDITORS, they get payed to edit and fix errors, so relax!!! And if you're not sending "these writings" to try to validate a point, then what are you doing?
Back to the point of this topic, RookWV, I commend you for taking a step towards making the "real" issue known here. Parental responsibility is the problem. Supervision, helmets, and limitations, it's as easy as that. I think that regulations for dealers to follow concerning the sales of ATVs to people who intend to let underage children ride them could help, but people will just start saying that they are buying the ATV for themselves. There is also a huge used market, anyone can open up an Auto and RV magazine and purchase a used ATV. What's next, hold the seller responsible for the buyers irresponsibility? Parents, watch your kids, and learn how to say no!!!!
As far as what I have done to make a difference? To be honest, not a whole lot. I do make sure that anyone that rides my ATV, or that rides ATVs with me, is wearing the proper gear. If I'm with newbie riders, I make sure to share as many tips with them as I can about riding properly, and make sure they don't try to take on more then they can handle. I don't hear about very many accidents around here concerning underage riders, and hope never to, but I'm sure they occur. I hope for the kids sake that some parents gain some common sense.
Sorry about any errors, I'm only human!

harsh thread. I'm not taking either side.
Basic point: get active!! We need to be active or we risk losing our sport. Anti-ATV groups are organized and active, even though I'd bet that we outnumber them.
Side point: Whether it's to a newspaper or on this forum, we have to be aware that both arenas are available for the public to view as soon as we hit send on the email or post the message. Anti-ATV groups/people DO visit these forums. I have been attacked myself as a result (not physically).

I'm not scared...I'll choose a side
The rookie is right.
just because you arn't an English major...or even great at composition doesn't mean you should just sit quietly
89trx has a point...but only a point...Rookie has an EFFORT, which is way more than a point
, you guys don't dislike each other and essentially want the same thing for our industry...hey 89trx, maybe you could offer to help him edit any other letters he might send in...and Rookie maybe you could work a little harder on the next letter, making yourself a stronger advocate

I can assure you that the original post isn't an example of 99% of my writing/reading ability (it is a good example of my typing ability though )....I just flew into a typing whirlwind and was a bit careless in the proofreading department. I wrote about 6 different people/papers and this is the one that I copied and pasted here.
I'll be more diligent the next time I post something here so the English majors don't lose their wigs!
