It was probably the most frightening post I ever penned and the whole thing left me confused and completely disoriented afterwards (which is pretty normal for me, so I got through it fairly well.....).

But all in all.......I'm thinking it completely changed my inner soul and whitened both my heart AND *****...... (lol)

Do not mean to be a pill but "there" should have been they're (or they are ) in this quote.

Your missing the point. You cant be taken seriously if you cant even get the grammar correct. There going to think your an idiot and therefore not even consider what you have to say.

Sorry my mom was an English teacher.

Wow I am late on this one and sorry for not proof reading all the posts etc.

I agree with the idea of not letting potential goof ups in your letter preventing you from sending that very letter in the first place, but you would be better understood and accepted by your intended audience (the politician or reporter etc) if you take a moment and run spell check.

Is a poorly written letter better than none at all?

Is it better to sit and wish you had a place to ride because you didnt wrtie any letters because you were afraid of writing a bad one?

I think we are all smart enough to know the answers to these questions.

So I guess I agree with both of these guys if thats possible

Try your best, use a word type program to write your letter so you can check on errors, think about what you want to say and proof it once typed out so that your letter does get your point across, keep on track and dont tackle too many points in one letter (otherwise you will lose your readers attention), allways stay focused on the "big picture" and dont lose site of what your after to make one single point, and most importantly write those letters since there is power in numbers and we must show the powers that be that we are a large group and are capable or swaying any political election. The only way this will happen is if they receive the letters and yes poor ones count to the total but allways carry more weight if they are written properly.

BTW I have become so used to poor typing on the many boards I visit that I hardly even notice it any longer and will add that though I would expect the original letter here would have had some editing if it was proofed it was not nearly all that bad and the reader would have understood it if they desired to actually read it.

Any and all corrections were made by myself or the editor of the newspaper/s....If you read the last post of the first page it may help.

I can get PROPER grammar and spelling lessons by talking to my neighborhood schoolteacher.....I don't come HERE for that....I appreciate the "concern" some might have for my education but I can assure you that unless you know me personally then you have no idea.

The whole point is to get off our lazy a$$es and do something to protect our sport/hobby......it doesn't seem as if our "organization" is doing much.....what is their name again? What's their purpose? What's their standing on the important issues?

Answer me this:

How many letters have each of you written to your local, state, and federal representatives or to a newspaper, magazine or television station?

I can honestly say that I have and I will continue to......unfortunately I seem to be in a minority amongst people who would rather chastise someone for an errant flick of the finger than actually provide something positive and forward moving.

If people only showed so much passion for protecting this sport as they do for trying to "one up" a fellow rider!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, when are you going to write something to someone? When are you going to do something about it other than just b!tch about it?

((((the word 'you' is not intended to point to any specific individual))))

((( I like that part))))

Hey dont waste your energy taking this stuff on here personal, its just not worth it. Learn from it like anything else that happens in life but dont sweat it.

I think many of the people on all the message boards are serioulsy interested in making our sport better and many I have talked to have an honest passion, but sometimes things dont come across the same on these things due to the lack of body language and tone etc.

Not sure if this was much help but hey I tried

BTW keep writing those damn letters !!!!!

I certainly will keep writing those letters, thanks for the encouragement.

I'm beginning to think that no matter what good we do it won't get the same public attention as does the bad....it's unfortunate.....we are in the same plight as a lot of hunters.
