Default What it takes to make an ATV street legal

I live in texas and I am thinking about making a Banshee street legal. I have seen this in magazines in the past, though I am sure it is different per state. I am just curious if anyone has any input oh this subject, such as what it takes to make the quad legal, turn signals, horn, mirrors, dot approved tires, ect. Also I am curious what sort of insurance you would be able to get, and also if you would be required to have a motorcycle license.
thank you for any information

There have been several topics on the subject. Good reading in all of them, worth looking up.

It does boil down to "every state has different laws, contact your DMV and ask, get the relevent laws to read yourself if they say no."
