I have no idea where or who you get your info from, but you should do better home work before you make these silly accusations.

FYI,it was POLARIS INDUSTRIES that brought this Bill to the table in the first place for the sole purpose of promoting riding area's for their larger ORVs.Once they found out that Michigan DOES provide area's for these type's of ORVs to ride, they shunned the Bill.

Im not going to spend another minute of MY VALUABLE time trying to explain such inaccurate information posted from such a close minded individule.I have far to many folks that need me in other area's of the ORV community where I can assist them in moving FORWARD,instead of WASTING all my valuable time on a PC with some bone head that refuses to do his homework before he presses the keys.

Im out of here-------------------

so you are opposed to another public riding area in the LP? Also do you think the 1500 or so miles of trails are plenty enough for Michigan riders? Souldn't we have double that many miles of trails? Would that be too much?

The article also showed a photo of a family riding their ATV's. The father said they rode along county roads to get to a public trail nearby. He indicated it wasn't practical to trailer all the machines the short distance to the trail, so he would just be selling them and finding other family activities.
This will become a common situation in States that do not embrace the ORV sport. Some have, but many will not.

John, I've always repected you for your sincerity and difficult positions you chose to portray. These statments you're making now are wrong as to left feet. You sound as though you don't care what the truth is. You just want your words to work for you, don't you?
Everyone, John is a good guy until you put a key board in his hands. Doctor Jeykl, Mr. Hide... Come on John. Let's get back to riding for fun. Not pounding the ground for attention.

Michigan actaully has about 3100 miles of ORV trails..I would LOVE another public riding area in the LP..In fact,we will soon see another 750 miles of NEW trail developed by the 2008 yr..

Who says the riding season is OVER?----I NEVER put my ATVs up for ANY season..We ride all yr long.

Since I'm used to being called a liar ever since Muddy and Ecorman accused me of same just before they had to abandon their "last" atv club leadership (it's funny how club members can nastily call you every name in the book...yet refuse to "eat crow" when the very same person you complain about puts the screwing to them and they have to leave the club)..I guess we'll just have to get the truth from Representative Hildenbrand's office (I can only go by what they've told me).

Yet to shgow how evasive these guys are (did you notice how they AGAIN didn't want to talk about frocing "public" discussions of how this $4 million is going to be being spent or where these 750 miles of trail should be laid down? :rolleyes...let me ask you this.

When your club brags about how the "MMRC" (this being a group that was supposed to represent ALL user groups and do so 'publicly'...) can kill these bills within "26" hours without debate....why is it that your representation to same doesn't fight for a 'group commentary' regarding the current orv update plan....let alone even a statement (unified) from your own club on the single most important issue we've ever faced?

I sent in an FOIA request to the DNR for update plan commentary from "the major orv groups in the state".
No commentary whatsoever from the "all-encompassing" MMRC....and certainly NOTHING (as one voice) from a bunch of guys/gals who like to brag about killing orv bills that nobody knows the full story about. (Uhhhh, why wasn't the community even so much as clued in on Polaris' involvement in this from the start?...did it just 'sound' better if the bill's sponsor's could be portrayed as just a bunch of crazy wanton trail wideners?).

Representative Hildenbrand's office has been sent a formal request to respond (they certainly didn't mention Polaris' name to me either; after asking several times where this bill came from).
The irony here being that this is the very same issue that these guys and this club have refused to talk about for going on 7 years now (leader after leader)...yet killing this bill with a tight lid on the publicity and absolutely no commentary or discussion within the community regarding it (similar to their behind-the-scenes and 'up for grabs' $4 million; these 750 miles of new trail and the construction of their big city slicker riding area) causes the same "no comment" you witness here.
(sorry, but my 'reply' button is working intermittently and I can't reply to the other posts. I'm certainly one of the few who ansers all questions and all comers; as opposed to others who 'pick and choose' what they want to talk about when asked...see the $4 million up for grabs above. I'll try again.).

BB,
first and foremost, you give YOURSELF 'far' to much credit for me leaving the 'other' club..In fact,YOU had N.O.T.H.I.N.G to do with MY decission to leave the last club..

And as far as WHERE our 750 miles of new trail will go?The DNR dont even know where these new miles will be going just yet,so just exactly how in the hell do you expect ME to know?

Where is the 4 million bucks going to be spent?I did answer you in a previous post..I told you IF you would have made the last ORV Board meeting, that it was explained where and how this money would be spent, but you did'nt show up,and quite frankly, its not my job to explain this,so check with your local DNR office authority.

QUOTE by BB**When your club brags about how the "MMRC" (this being a group that was supposed to represent ALL user groups and do so 'publicly'...) can kill these bills within "26" hours without debate....why is it that your representation to same doesn't fight for a 'group commentary' regarding the current orv update plan....let alone even a statement (unified) from your own club on the single most important issue we've ever faced.END of QUOTE**

The more lies YOU type on your PC,the more STUPID you sound..Show PROOF that even ONE person in our club BRAGGED about how the MMRC got this Bill shut down within 26 hrs?..[you CANT]---Now what I find even more amusing than the last accusation is how you blame our club and the MMRC for their lack of involvement in the ORV update plan.FYI,unified statements or notices to the DNR only act as ONE statement, therefore,we requested that members/users send in their statements as an individule request to the DNR so that it would make for a higher overall count in the process.

Please PROVE to me and ALL the readers of this forum WHERE even ONE person in our club bragged about getting this trail widening Bill shut down.

I'd like to know how the state is spending this $4million!
Was some of it spent on improving and repairing the gladwin trail, and now I understand that the State DNR is going to close that gladwin trail after spending monies on it?

If it is closed, then how do we ever know that the state DNR officials will ever create any new trails?

What type of trails will the 750 miles be? And where will they be created? In LP or UP? 24" or 50"?

I still do not see why so many were opposed to that bill...altho it was being told that it would cause all existing trails to be changed to 60".

The way alot of the trail systems in Michigan are said to be 50", but most are less than that, why is this?

I thought the DNR's ORV update plan, had something in it about ORV riding season.

I ride my toys year around, until it is made illegal by the State of MI.

I think there are 2 DNR motorsports riding areas in the LP already? Silver lake and St. Helen.

And there is the Genesee County Mounds and USFS Bull Gap.

Did I miss any? Are there any private ones?

Yes it would be nice if MI was more atv friendly. More ORV riding areas would be great.
