"..I'd like to know <u>how</u> the state is spending this $4million!!!....
....<u>What</u> type of trails will the 750 miles be?
...And <u>where</u> will they be created?..
...***In the LP or UP***?
.... <u>24" or 50"</u>?..".
Congratulations, my friend....you have become the first person in this state to publicly demand that these discussions be taken out of the "behind-the-scenes" area Muddy and his band of merry men would just as soon keep them. To go for the "trifecta"....please call Jen at Representative Hildenbrand's office:
<DIV align=left><FONT face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" color=#993333 size=2><FONT color=#666633>Phone:</FONT></FONT><FONT face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" color=#000000 size=2> 517-373-0846</FONT></DIV>... to ask just why Muddy's boys tried so hard to tow their future parent "motorcycle club's" line and misrepresent this representative's efforts as a "widening" bill.(once you're told to tow the line by District 14....you TOW IT, by god!
PM me afterwards if you're sick of what you hear; as this house of cards is about to come tumbling down.(these guys have become so 'brazen' that it's frankly sickening.).
One thing you have to realize is that Muddy's gang 'again' (boy, was I stupid) immediately called me every nane in the book the very second I started asking the same kind of questions you now ask above.
Everything from "we don't want to be a <u>politica</u>l club, we just want to 'ride'....to "oh no, just because we want you to cough up $30 to join this motorcycle club to do trail maintenance; we would never adopt their policies (guess who now wants to become a sub-chapter of same and brags about lobbying 'lip-synched' with the same club).
So....I've finally found somebody who actually cares about whether these 750 miles of new trail are actually truly "multi-use" in nature?.
Welcome aboard, my friend!.. as these guys have been trying damn hard to make sure the question doesn't get asked.(why be a man and speak out on the important orv issues of the day...if your new 'partner' demands that one sit there with his mouth shut.....or "Santa" won't bring him that new big city slicker riding area with part of this $4 million and the mandated increased trail mileage? (darn, I probably 'lost' you on that one if your a suburbanite who could care less about 'the rest' of the system and its long suffering needs... ).

You said the gladwin trail is going to be shut down, the north end already closed (received a ticket for riding on it two months ago). DNR said it has been closed for years. When do they plan to close the south end, man they are sure being a pain in the *** about riding. I also want to know where the new trail will be. Looking for new place to buy due to the dnr in gladwin, and now i hear the only place to ride up there going to be closed. Why stay and receive tkts, will look at web sites to see new location

Id like to say Im very lucky to live in a town and near towns and in a county where atv's are very welcome . In our area it is has been up to local towns as long as they are not a city of first class. If they are a city of first class then state laws say no atv usage on city streets in city limits. It was also up to each county , my county because of the huge farming market chose to allow atvs on county roads. We have both oil and chat and also gravel. As far as atv's hurting these county roads? they are pretty hard packed with all the grain/corn semi's and large combines traveling them. So it has not been an issue for us. We also have to file a single line and after dark be sure to have proper lighting and no driving in the towns after sunset. . My town also posted where not to have our atvs, like on the ball feild or city park etc... Have we from time to time had problems?? yes and I myself have got out of bed, dressed, walked to the neighbors and asked the "bad apples" if they were honestly wanting to ruin it for everyone. This most of the time leads to a "sorry" from them, or a "we were just having fun". Its never been a big deal cause I have had about every atv in that town at my house one time or another washing it or helping them work on it.
It also does not hurt to have a snow plow and do as many side walks in the winter for free as you can. Post office, church, bank, american legion etc..... None of the "big city officals" like to shovel snow!
You all have a good day and fight a good fight when it comes to our hobby. WE ARE ALL ON THIS WEB SITE FOR ONE REASON. WE ALL HAVE THE SAME LOVE FOR OUR ATV'S. remember that.

BB,
would you now care to inform the reading public of your outright lies in regards to the MMRC being the ones that got this Bill shut down in just 26 hrs and how they BRAGGED about doing it?
I just got off the phone with the Jen from the Reps office, and she ASSURED me that it was an abundance of DIFFERANT ORV user groups that influenced their decision to get this Bill postponed or delayed. She also admitted that Polaris Industries had alot to do with introducing this Bill because they were not aware that Michigan offered riding area's for their larger ORVs.
Now any MAN in their right mind would offer an APOLOGY to not only the members of this Forum for his out right mis-information of the facts regarding this issue, but to the MMRC members that you lied about and attempted to shame.
I would request that you seek out better information before you insert your foot in your mouth like you did on this one,it makes you look far more redicules than most of us already know you are.

but when some one redirects to some "ATVOFFROAD.NET" website and I know of the DNR web site, good luck finding simple answers at mi.gov website...makes you sound like some of those idiot politicians out there, are you one of them?
MUDDY4LIFE, you said in one of your posts that you "know" where the 4million sticker money have gone, if so why not tell us? Is this some super secret? Is that club at ATVOFFROAD.NET your club MUDDY?
As for your detroit area atv state funded riding area (orv park) you need to pay for that youself and the rest of you folks that live in SE MI. That $4million should be spent maintaining the current trails as they are not being maintained. I think a private ORV park in SE MI would be a better solution.
I was just asking simple questions, that should have simple answers...

Motorsports,
I do not own the ATVOFFROAD club and the 4 million dollars is not a secret to anybody..If you would have attended the last ORV board meeting that is open to the public on November the 9th,Steve Kubisiak with the FMFM [forest mineral and fire management] of the DNR gave pretty good detailed info on where this money would be spent. Some on trail maintainance, some on restoration of damaged trails, some on law enforcement, and some to safety education training ect.If you want the specifics of dollar amounts, you'll have to contact the DNR because I dont have that information.Ask for Steve Kubisiak or Jim Radabaugh.
