On Dec 6, 2000, 6:30pm at Nampa Idaho Civic Center there will be a rally in protest to the Sierra Clubs petition to the current president to make the Owyhee mountains and Desert of southern Idaho into a National Mounument. If monument status is granted it will remove approximately 2.7 million acres of land from recreationists that use motor vehicles and also from Ranchers. Some ranches in the area in question have been family owned for over 140 years. Speakers that have been invited to speak out against this travesty are all of the current congressional members for the State of Idaho, the Govenor, Secretary of State, and all members of the State Land Board.

The rally is sponsored by county commissioners from Owyhee, Elmore, Twin Falls, Canyon, Boise Id.and Malhuer Oregon Counties and by the Owyhee County Cattlemen's Association, the Idaho State Snowmobile Association, the Idaho ATV Association, the Owyhee Farm Bureau, the Idaho Cattle Association, the Stewards of the Range, the Idaho Hunters Association, the Jarbridge Shovel Brigade, the Blue Ribbon Coalition, the Idaho ATV Association--Emmett Chapter, and the Owyhee Ridge Runners. the Southern Idaho Desert Racing Assn (sidra)

It is imparitive that we have a large turnout to show the Greenies that we are tired of being pushed around and denied our right to happiness as guarenteed in the US Declaration of Idependance. So if you plan on being in the Boise/Nampa Idaho area on the 6th please attend.
