This is the Blair Holt Firearm & Record of Sale Act of 2009.
Basically this bill would make it illegal to own a firearm, any rifle with a clip or ANY pistol unless;
1) It is registered
2) You are fingerprinted
3) You supply a current drivers license
4) You supply your SS number
5) You will submit to a physical & mental evaluation at any time of their choosing.

In addition each update or change of ownership through private or public sale must be reported and will cost $25.00
Don't do that and you will lose your RIGHT to OWN a firearm and be subject to up to a year in jail.

The bill was already shot down twice before. It will never make it to Obama's desk.

Besides, if you live in NY you already have to do all that stuff in order to own a pistol.

Ironic that the bill was introduced by Bobby Rush, a Black Panther terrorist who went AWOL from the army to assist terrorists and spent 6 months in prison for illegal possession of firearms.

They can keep trying all they want......they don't have the votes in the Senate to even get it through. Both Democrats and Republicans voted this down twice already and they will vote it down again.

I don't disagree that we need to make our voices heard. The 2nd amendment is always something we need to watch closely. And there is no harm in making certain your local representative knows how you feel. But even if by some miracle this bill did get passed, the states would refuse it on economic basis alone.

 

Scary isnt it... the right to bear arms only if you have been subjected and deemed worthy of a mental and physical evaluation of standards set forth by the government.

How many people do you think would pass this examination?

 

It amazes me that they continue to try to pass laws about firearms when they can't keep them from convicted drug dealers, rapists, childmolesters and the rest ot the felons who have them illegally.
We supposidly declared war on drugs when tricky Dick was in office. Oh well, we can sure see who is winning that one.

They spend som much time trying to tighten up restrictions on the free people who would only use one for meat on the table, to protect his family and property, it just makes me sick.

I am a vet, my father was a vet. Seems they sent us to knock off as many that would try to protect their way of life.
Well folks, we have a stirred a hornets nest now that is not going to end anytime soon. I am burying one of ours on Saturday.
