I not only spend time (and money) building trails but actual own several miles of trails, too.

ONe of the lessons I am hearing is that complaining to government officials by either side will get you shut down. Lets face it, they are overworked, underpaid and there are not enough of them to go around. If they start getting complaints, the easiest thing to do is to shut it down. Problem goes away. Also, I think by combining the two groups you get productive talk and sharing of ideas. If a club degrades to the point where all you get is bickering and an us versus them kind of thing, you are going in the wrong direction.
