Specta is doing well. He spends more time on Facebook than here now. I took pics but they are kind of last on the list of things I need to get done, catch up wise.

Default smaller is better off trail

I tend to agree that 500cc is optimal, for off trail use anyway. A bigger, heavier machine makes it a chore to get around off trail where you'll be dodging trees, brush and rocks. You can't go fast off trail, so the extra power would be wasted. But, if you only ride on straight level trails, that gets boring unless you can go fast. So I imagine a 1,000 cc machine would be better for that.

I think somewhere inbetween is a good compromise. The 650-750cc machines offer plenty of top end speed but are nimble enough to handle tight trails. The 1000cc machines are super fun to ride on open trails but cost so much that they're out of reach for many.

In Northern Minnesota you can ride anywhere - even down the highways. Ride into town and park in front of the bank or run and get groceries. This is not true however; of Southern Minnesota. Yup - different laws for different parts of the same state.
