They're pretty close price-wise. Honda 400x is $6299 and Yamaha YFZ450 is $6799.

Truthfully, they all do it in different ways. Same with trucks.

it kills me seeing commercials Ford and Dodge have ecoboost and both claim to be the only one to offer it and how "noone else has ecoboost but __(either name)_____"

This is exactly why they "rereleased" the YFZ450. Yamaha went cheaper on some of the components so they could sell 450 performance at 400 class prices. Suspension wise this doesn't match up well with the $1200.00 more expensive TRX450R, but Yammie already has a dog in that fight anyway. The 400EX is a pretty good machine, but it was out of the question when I was getting back into quads. Way to tame/slow. Now this would get my attention if I wanted new and fast on a budget!

You could probably get the dealer to come down a bit on the Yammy but not the Honda.

ehh- air cooled atv engines don't like being submerged in cold water -

I don't really have a problem with the ad- they are just showcasing their brand. Like mentioned above, it's a price thing- because a better comparison would've been with the 450r - not the 400ex.

they all do it.

Now that you mention it guys who have bought Hondas that I know couldn't get the dealers to budge much where the Yamaha dealers would give a couple hundred more off if you started walking out the door.

Honda should make a ad with it's 450R vs Yamaha 350 Raptor it would make as much sense.

Yamaha's next ad will be how the 700 Grizzly out performs the 250 Recon. LOL

All the 450 class sport ATVs have there 450 motorcross motors in them.

In my case, it wasn't like I was working one dealer against another. Same place, two different brands. No price break on the honda.

Honda 400EX reverse gear
450 Yammi - nope.

While the Yamahahaha 450 is a nice quad, the 400ex is a better trail quad.
