Does that mean Yamaha's are over priced on the sticker price and are counting on some purchasers to not negotiate? Meaning more profit?

Nope, it means they're more willing to sell a few more than Honda at less profit. Same difference to me. I think Honda is just less willing to sell quads than the other makers. Fewer features for the most part, not keeping up with the times and equipment others offer, and relying on stubbornly loyal Honda buyers. They are not selling as many as they used to but still cling to their pricing schemes. Just observations. I truly like most of the major quad makers products. I just don't think it was that unfair a comparison based on price. While reverse is nice, I can pull a sport quad out of mud without a winch. Done it before, but don't want to do it again. Other than reverse you're getting more quad for just a little bit more money. Competition is a wonderful thing.

They are comparing apples to oranges. The 400ex is not a off the floor race quad, its a trail quad. The yfz should of been compared to honda's 450r to be accurate. I think the target audience for this add is for people who dont know a lot about quads.
My ex doesnt mind going for a swim.

Yamaha made a good move on one hand but a terrible move on the other
They are comparing a yfz 450r without all the bells and whistles
At a lower price, but idk what they were thinking putting it up next to the 400ex
It has the history, but again not as updated as many newer sport quads
They only put up the numbers, not that it's without fuel injection
Or dosent have adjustable shocks, Yamaha should cancel the 350 raptor
And make a brand new 400 raptor, then compare it to the 400ex, then we'll
Now who is the better manufacturer by seeing what Yamaha can come up with, not
What kawi or arctic cat did with Suzuki and copy the z400.

Why not a yfz 400. Theres already the raptor 90, 350, 660, and 700.

The 400 is a trail quad, they should have compared the 450r to this. I just like the proven reliability and simplicity of Honda air cooled engines, owned a XR100 when I was a kid, and then a CRF230, most reliable engines ever, never had any trouble with them. Just changed the oil, cleaned the filter, and put gas in them. Do the same with my 400ex, it is plenty fast for me, 65 is moving on a quad.
