Default i'm thinkin of building a custom hot rod....

wyotech is top of the line when it comes to cars, and trucks, this represenative told me that there is no english, math biology classes etc, it is all about cars, nothing but cars and trucks,

i also have another question,

will diesel engines always be around? or will they come out with something like electric engines, or will diesel stick with the trucking industry and all big rigs?

thanks

no way of telling. the enviromentalist are aways trying to get rid of gas and diesel engines. i can't see how they can pull the loads they do with anything else and not cost an arm and a leg. diesels are extremly effisent(spelling) and have a long life before they need overhauling. wyotech is the way to go. i was watching rides the other night and i think it was rads by troy that had two people working there that was hired straight out of wyotech. plus the race team my friends son that works for aj floyt works with three wyotech grads.

The American, no, the Worlds econmoy is too dependent on Diesel motors for them to ever go out of production. Think about it, the transportation industry uses them in semis, barges, trains, etc.etc, Our military uses them for tanks and many other vehicles, the construction industry really relies on them, as well as many hospitals and other high occupancy buildings use them as backup power generators. Unless someone invents a alternative method of producing the same or more power and torque, they will always be around. Even if they did invent a replacement, it would take a very long time to phase them all out. Just my 2 cents.....

are big rig trucks ever going to switch from manual tranny to automatic or will it always be manual, because they make it manual for the driver to have as much control over the gears, inputs please

They already have auto's in tractors now. Allison, makes them. The biggest complaint drivers have is the wet/snow conditions cause problems. Most guys use 10-18speed Rockwell or Eaton/Fuller.
