How fast is a 1990 xr 250?
#1
I have a 1990 Xr 250. I was wondering what the top speed is. I also have a 2000 yz 125. I wanted to know which was faster. I think my yz 125 goes about 71 mph, but im not sure. Any input would be appreciated. Also, does anyone have any ideas about how to build decent sized dirtbike/atv jumps?

Not as fast as my 1990 kx 125
you should definetly be able to take the xr250.
as for jumps, get a backhoe, or use a filler like a log, then pile dirt up, then pack it really hard. Shovels will only work for maintenance, it takes for ever to make a jump with one, trust me.

I use to own a 88 XR250 and it wasn't that quick at all. It should get up to 60-70 but not as fast as the YZ 2-stroke gets there at the same speed. They're nice enduro type bikes for trail riding with good suspension considering how old they are. The 4 stroke is a lot quieter and a lot easier to ride compared to the viscious power bands of the 2 strokes. It's really a nice riding bike considering how old it is, you're just not going to win many races on it. Honda started going to the rear mono shock swingarm back in the early 80's. So I believe they were ahead of Yam and Zuki in the suspension department at that time. Zuki's full floater suspension was great back then too. I believe the other bike makers were still using dual rear shocks into the 80's?

Thats a lame reply... he wasnt asking how his 125 compaired to your 250.
Thats kind of an unfair compairo, isnt it? Thats like me saying 'your RM250 is fast, but my KX500 would stomp it...'
