OT, who has their Motorcycle Endorsement?
#1
I'm looking into gettting my Motorcycle endorsement this spring, but I'm a little worried I may get in over my head and not pass the test, so I'm looking for any advice you can give me. Thanks in advance!

i dont have one (always stay on 4 wheels), but let's just say this. my mother took the course for fun, never had gotten on a bike before, and passed. she said all you do is sit and talk about safety, and run over 2X4's. same with my brother, 2 sisters, and father. only one of my sisters had ridden a motorcycle before the class.

I"m also taking the test in the spring.
I"m not too worried because i've got so much seat time on different bikes.
The slow tight turns have me a little unsure though. because with dirt bikes you always put your foot down but i've heard on the tests if you do that you fail.
And i'm going to end up taking it on a 900cc crotchrocket. should be interesting to say teh least.

I believe the motorcycle safety institute, puts on a very good beginners course. Its well worth the money, and anyone who has a desire to ride...will pass.
Ive been riding bikes for over 35 years now, when i started riding them, a person didnt need an endorsement, and when they changed that, i got grandfathered in. But I cant imagine them asking you to do anything dangerous or difficult, for the driving test.
Do yourself and your familiy a favor...buy a good helmet and use it.

I took mine when I was 16. Passed with flying colors. It was real easy and as long as you follow their instructions, it is hard to fail. I might add that I had to do mine in the rain It was a weekend class for 8 hours a day.

i dont know about where you live, but in lower michigan, we have an ace in the hole, lol. i have a v 65 magna, 1100 cc bike. been riding for over 25 years, but never with a licance. well, getting that bike into and out of a 10 foot circle is absolutly impossible. so, i called a honda sealer, and a man there gives tests. he rents the bike for 50 dollars. when i arrived and looked at the bike, i laughed out loud. it was a 1983 honda scooter, with a automatic 125 cc moter. ( i guess they made it for 1 year only?) well, me and 8 woman were being tested on this thing. it is duct taped together, from numerous drops, and crashes durning renting it. i am 240, and almost 6ft( i know, fat and ugle is no way to go through life) i wish i had video of me on this thing. i must of looked like a fly on a knat's a$$.
all the same, to take a test on a large bike is asking for trouble. the turns are just to tight for a large bike. even the cops bikes will out turn most large cc bikes. so, find the person in your area that does it all, and rents too. it will be so worth it in the end.
