Default 2 Strokes being discontinued?
I heard the other day from someone that they are going to discontinue 2 strokes in the near future. The blaster is going to get a major upgraded (four stroke 250) and it gonna be a big hit for yamaha. When would be the soonest time that they are going to do this. What is going to happen to the banshee???

i think someone is "jerking your chain".... 2-strokes are toooo goood to just discontinue..

I dont know about that MYTRX250EXISBEST, because i also read something in dirtwheels mag about the blaster getting a 250 4 stroke motor put in soon. They were also saying how the blaster time was going to be up and even though in 2003 it got upgraded it still show it age.

The most popular date is 06, but i've also heard 08' or 2010

MYTRX250EXISBEST, who did you have do the" stage 1 or 2 jetting"? i hope u didnt have the dealership doit, cause theres no such thing...

Rem, I think he is referring to DynaJet Stage 1 & 2 jet kits.

And yes, two strokes will not be sold on new model atvs soon thanks to the EPA. Good thing I already have a Banshee.

Show me a new 2 stroke street bike then. They made hoards of 'em up to 750's 'till the late '70s. No mo'.

If you guys want proof then contact your local yammy dealer and ask them about the discontiued blaster and banshee models as of 06

The blaster and banshee is discontinued for 06'. And I think you'll see all 2 stroke quads disapear soon after. I still think 2 stroke dirtbikes will be around for a while tho.

I had a buddy with a RD400 in hs, late 70's. for those of you young guy's that was basically the air cooled banshee motor in a street bike, sounded wicked. He finally let me ride it one day and boy what a rush, seemed real fast compared to the 73 CZ 250 I had at the time. Sadly he killed himself on that bike, had way too many tickets and was afraid of how his dad would react if he got another one. He was just telling all of us in the parking lot at school that next time he would run. Bad choice, he hit a tree head on approx 130mph. Very Sad.
I also have a kawasaki mach 3 500 triple motor(2stroke) in my collection of stuff, complete, someday maybe it ends up in my odyssey. Sorry for rambling on, you just got me thinking back 25 year's.
