Its ok i understand. And i just want to let everyone know i do have respect for this site and the majority of you here. And again it wasnt my intentions to stir up an uproar of complaints.

The way I see it is this is more then just an ATV site, it's a place where people that are into ATVs come to socialize. The non ATV pictures they post tell others a little more information about themselves. To allow only ATV pictures would not be the best idea IMO.

This site is great even if there is other stuff on here other than Atv's. Drugs are everywhere and they are not going anywhere. When your a teenager is cool to do all this stuff but after awhile it will sink in. Last night i went to my cousin b-party turning 18yrs old you can figure out the rest. Like i said drugs, beer, smokes, are all over and most of cousin do smoke, (weed) and drink weekly but at this age what do you think they going to do. I like find TheWeedman to be a very respectful and responible person. I have no problem with anyone on this site and i tend to keep it that way.
"Who nows TheWeedman could be a hero for the U.S one day Future Marine's" Peace Weedman!!!

sorry,

its almost like we need to just get rid of the "yamaha" forum because 90% of the stuff in there is not ATV related, does any1 else recognize this?

i think most of this is coming from the yamaha forum, my 2 cents

I dont think there is anyone promoting the idea of having only atv related items on this forum, I know that it's not the intention from TexasPsyco or me. The focus is on the representation of illegal activities and other questionable issues that may violate some of the more basic societal morals.

I could write a 5 paragraph post, but it would be saying the same thing other people have already said. I think that ctatv has some very good points that kinda reflected off my points and I basically agree with everything he has said. Well put ctatv.

Once again I would like to emphasize that this thread is about keeping illegal activities from being accepted or glorified by this family oriented forum that contains thousands of minors.

This thread is not, in my mind anyway, about the politics or moral questions about these items. Whether you think that these things are ok or not is irrellevant, they are still illegal and exposing children to illegal activities shown in a positive manner is not something a responsible parent wants to happen. Its one thing to have kids exposed to drugs, its quite another for the people they identify with and respect to promote drug use.

Just trying to keep this about the site, and not about the legal, moral, and societal issues.

This thread is about whatever we want to talk about. so.. now it is about politics. I didnt say weed is cool people should go out and smoke it I just said people who think alchohol is ok to speak openly but weed isnt are hypocrits. 85% of the people in here probably ride their quad without all aproved saftey gear, ride on land that they technically arent supposed to be on, speed, and dont listne to the warning lables on their ATVs or follow government age guidelines so are you gonna complain about that being a bad influence too.

I do feel that tresspassing or riding in illegal locations should be discouraged. When forum members post about running from the cops on their machines because they got caught breaking the law, I and many others voice our disapproval. We should all ride with some sort of safety gear, but not all safety gear is required by law. Check you state orv guidlines, but only a helmet, goggles and some other small items are required here. Ernie will be the first to tell you that you should always wear a helmet when on your atv. Promoting riding w/o these things is also a poor example to others.

As for the warning labels on your atvs, they are just that, warning labels. They are designed to keep inexperienced or unfamiliar riders within thier bounds, and to keep experienced ones from going too crazy. Some of those warnings are in fact law in some states. I agree that you should not be riding multiple people on a sport quad. If you are going for a ride for more than 10 minutes, you wouldnt want anyone on with you regardless of the type of atv you have. It impedes the ability of the driver to control the atv in simple situations, let alone serious ones. The weight distribution and chassis, suspension, and driveline stress is also an important factor when on the trail with more than one person on the bike.

The age guidelines are good natured, but unfortunately seem inadequate for the sport. That is why the decisions are left up to the parents and not the children. The Parents are much more capable of controlling the size of the machine their kids ride than the things they do when they ride it. So this is not a poor influence upon the children since educated parents should be making the decisions based upon their child's size, experience, age and maturity. You still cannot take the child on a state trail if they are not legally old enough to operate the atv though, which also falls under parental control.

I'm not usually a stickler like this, but you can make a good case to follow most all of the things you listed. And if you would like to challenge the views I will answer with my own as I have done here.

I will not get into the drug debate, because I personally dont wish to argue about it. I have not condemned anyone here for use of these things, other than to say that they are against the law and you take a chance at governmental punishment. I do not have children at this point in my life and I do not use any of these substances so I dont have a direct stake in any of it. Therefore, it really doesnt take any priority in my life and I dont care about it until it the law changes one way or another.
