CTATV, you have lots of good points, and maturity for a 21 year old, someone did a good job raising you.
This is just a little piece of america. Closing our eyes to what is happening around us isnt the answer. Just "saying no to drugs" cant and wont work.Censoring isnt the answer either. Were alteady getting too much of that, in the news.
My vote goes for freedom of speach, like in the first amendment says we have. If you object to the photos...dont view them. If theres a post you dont like, dont view it. If something goes over your comfort level, let the administration know.
If your child is old enough to be on the internet, theyre old enough to see reality. Chances are...theyve seen much worse than anything on this site... when you arent looking over their shoulder.
Think about it...when you were 13, you knew about drugs and sex and violence....howd you get your information? When you saw a wino...did you turn into and alcoholic? When you saw pictures from the vietnam war, and guys smoking dugs thru the shotgun, did you turn into a druggy?
We all have to take responibilty for our own lives and our minor children. Tell your kids, that theres gonna be some things you object to , kind of like in real life, and tell them, that person has a right to express himself, and that you dont agree with the expression. We dont do our children any favors, by hiding the truth from them. Its reality folks...deal with it.
