what do you guys think is the best skid plate out there as far as being tough and price wise. i was at moto joe . com and they have a brand called x- factor but you get a bumper,skid plate and nerfbars for 300 and some change.sounds like a good deal but then again i never heard of them. {97 warrior}

If you are on a budget, the plastic skids by Maier are nice! They are cheap, and way tougher than you might think, and extremely light. Plastic will slide off a rock, where aluminum will gaul and hang you up.

For aluminum, I like the DG Baja series.

If you're looking for a full skidplate set, you can find them all aluminum on ebay for like 240 delivered.

well i thought about that but i didn't really know if they were any good. i figured on good rock would destroy them.where i went riding at was not to bad you could avoid most of the rocks but there were a few that still went bump and bang.i may consider the plastic ones.

The plastic is real slick, so it is great in the snow. Just slides you along like a huge ski.

They are full CHASSIS skid plates (vs just a little piece of plastic under your engine, when stock). Nice thing is that it covers the frame rails, so it protects the chassis, as well as the engine.

The swingarm is seperate.

I've done a lot of looking around and comparing and I think that PRM make a really good (if not the best) product. I just ordered chassis and swingarm skids from gopartsdirect.com for $217. I'll let you know how they are.
