I mounted the control switch for my winch on the closest point on the left side of the front rack and it seems to be a little bit of a reach to activate the switch . I've seen guys that have the switch mounted to the left fender which would be about 6 inches closer , is the fender material a stable enough mounting point ?

Some winches have a corded remote to control the winch and allows you to stand away from your ATV. I think that would be very useful for times when you don't want to be in the line of fire if your cable breaks.
