Hey all, I do mainly trail riding.. and when I ride with friends that have utilitys. and most the time on the trails I never leave 2nd or 3rd


I have a 97 Banshee, bored .80 over, boost bottle, cool head, bigger carbs, K&N,s.. basicly everything cept for bottom end work.

well been having a problem with fowling plugs (thinking low compression on left cly) and kinda wanting to just get rid of it... well I want a UTE for mudd and hill climbing.

My friend wants to trade me a 2003 Trail Boss 330 and 100$ for it, Im seriously thinking on it.. I just know its gonna be absolutly SLOW compared to my banshee and my banshee will probly get through every bit of what this trailboss will... but I noticed when I was riding in what kinda trails I ride in the MOST I never left 2nd or 3rd MAINLY 2nd gear..

so im thinking maybe slower will be better cause I go slow on the trails anyways?

Maybe a good winch and this UTE ill be good to go on the trails?

I wanna ride mud, push down trees, climb through ditches and steep hills???

Should I trade or try and sell the shee (only looking at getting like 1800$ for it) and then buy a bigger UTE or get this 1...

Dude......this is strait from a Polaris pusher's mouth.........the 330 sucks @ss.......do not trade until you've rode it some. I'd seriously consider a Polaris sportsman 450......or sportsman 500......these things are tanks......they will go through the mud....trees,etc.......and will be relialbe too. Their ride is great too. You might post in the polaris section if you want more thoughts on what you should get.....or on what the opinions are on the 330......

 

I posted it in here cause I know if I post it there there will be biased opions...


but im going to I guess...

I wanna just do it for reverse alone LOL... if you dont have a reverse on your quad... you know exactly what I mean if you trail ride.

dont do the trade its not worth it and there are better quads then that trail boss

 

Bradracer18 is right, the 330 is a dog. If you have to get a polaris get a 500 HO or 700 EFI. Stay away from the 330. I worked for a polaris dealer and we couldn't give away a 330 after someone rode it and another quad.

 

I rode it today.. really was all THAT slow as I expected.. rode like a cadilac lol.

Did the trade and couldnt be more happy with it...

I already got it stuck tho good thing my buddy was there with his big bear 400 lol.. (I pulled him out too!)


me and him raced and I kept up by 1 bike legth :-D

Its not as slow as people make out like it is IMO... slow yes but I was thinking DOG slow, has plenty enough get up and go for me concidering it is a UTE

had so much fun on it today... Electric start was great, reverse was greater lol... and I actualy rode the whole day without somthing breaking like the banshee.... Tips for anybody IMO... DONT BUY A USED 2 STROKE UNLESS you know its been VERY well Maintained otherwise your buying somone elses problems.
