I have a 1984 200es threewheeler and i need info from someone with experience. Well i have taken apart the right side of my motor and have taken the odd looking nut off the clutch that has the plates in it and to get to the plates i have to take off the centrifical clutch to get to this, My problem is i do not know how to get the nut loose to get the centrifical clutch off because when i put a wrench on it the motor just turns. If i could get this off then i can get to my other clutch and get the plates out. Any one that knows how to get that nut off the centrifical clutch please help.

three wheelers are

From atvbbs: Allow me to finish the sentence for you:

ATV's enjoyed by many, who are just as entitled to use the Forum to exchange information, experience, and to ask technical questions as owners of 4- (and even 6- !) wheel ATV's.

Any questions?

An air impact is the best way usually.
If you need to stop the motor from turning however, I`ve found using a penny, and lodging it between gears works well.
Just dont cut the penny into pieces.
Hope this helps...

I guess many people use alot of different methods for holding the engine from turning over while removing the clutch....
I would not recommend putting anything in the gears to hold them...expensive idea if one of the teeth on a gear decide to chip or break. But then again, a penny is pretty soft...
I was able to get the one off my Banshee with an impact wrench(air).... when I put the clutch back together...I held the basket with an oversized Oil filter wrench. I know that there is a specialty tool also available for removing clutches. kind of looking like a pair of pliers with bent ends to grab the housing

I'm unfamiliar with the 200ES; ordinarily, removal of the centrifugal clutch is unnecessary to change clutch discs. Four bolts on the clutch basket on Hondas I have known release the outer basket half and the clutch discs.

However, if you must remove the shaft nut, the advice you're received is good--a power impact wrench (air or electric) will save your machine, your composure, and your nerves!

Good luck!

I agree with the last post there should be 4 or 5 bolts holding the springs to the clutch boss. If you want the right tool see dennis kirk they have a clutch/gear/and stator holder for aroung $30. Get another person to hold the stator while u remove the clutch hub bolt.
I also saw another method used where u remove the sparkplug an feed rope into the cylinder to stop the crank from going up an down. But i would not recomend this procedure. Get a clutch tool its your best bet.
