Orogonrider,Why not run a ground cable from the -side of the battery to the metal rack? That should supply the Antenna with a ground source.Maybe install a good durable Firestick Antenna? Just a thought=======Bill

Prospector,

I've ordered things from Bill's and have been very happy with the service. I reccomend them to anyone looking for radio equipment.

Just remember one thing if something is cheap there is usually a reason for it,you want something thats going to do you agood job.If you can't get out or hear clearly what good is it.

a radio is only as good as its ant. asnd ive never seen a good mic for a cb in my life that i would take into the woods with me. hence ive been a ham for years so i know a little about rf. If I was you I would think about getting an interant radio(vhf). As far as my friends that i ride with we are all hams and we use the rig in my truck as a portiable repeater, and we hardly ever get out of range of one another. There is a few things to think about since a no code ham ticket is easyer to get now more then ever. Later guys, kb8whz Rob
