Snoway,
When in the military, you must claim a “state of residence”, this can be changed as you move from place to place, or can remain the state you choose. The state has to recognize you as a resident, this in most cases means you must live in the state for a period of time, some require you to maintain there states drivers license. You have to send to that state for an absentee ballet, they send it back to you, you fill out your choices and mail it in. Just anyone can’t get the Absentee ballet, tou have to first register like everyone else. I am originally from Pennsylvania, (I guess my ballet wasn’t enough) I maintain my residency there because I plan on retiring back home, and Pa doesn’t charge me any state taxes while I’m in the Service.
In the military we do move around quite a bit, its not always easy, but I believe I make a difference, I don’t do this for myself, I do it because I believe in a bigger picture, a greater good.

Question:
Do any of you believe Gore will concede after the absentee ballots are counted or do you believe he will go forward with legal actions?

p.s. there is a lot of hype about the ballots thrown out in Palm Beach County, most of which those people realized their mistake, turned in their ballot to get a new one. Anyway, there is another county (heavily republican) in Florida that had 26,000 ballots thrown out.

i find it interesting that most people think that america was set up as a democracy.... news flash: it wasn't.
the constitution sets up our country as a representative republic.
meaning: we elect officialls to represent the views of the constituents, despite thier own views on any matter.
in a democracy, the elected official is elected & sent to do what he/she thinks is best, to vote thier own conscience which may or may not be best for thier constituents.
the difference is subtle, yet very significant.
for this reason i believe the electoral college is a good thing and should remain as it was set up by our forefathers.
