Default Atv death....:(

i wanna see him push even a foot of WET snow with a 350 pound 4x4 quad. get this even a 500 pound would have trouble.
Yes this is true...On my King Quad 700 which weighs well over 600lbs had trouble pushing some of the snow drifts on my driveway last winter, the snow weighed more than my ATV I guess b/c when I'd go to hit the pile of snow with the plow the back of my ATV would do a 180. But my Polaris Sportsman 400 which weighed well over 700lbs had the perfect amount of weight for pushing snow, and that's the ONE thing I miss about my Polaris.

Cheers to that. I know my Dad would have done that for me or my siblings. And I know I would do the same for my son or daughter, and my biggest fear I'd have with my last breath would be in wondering if they'd be OK and who would take care of them.

I don't blame the manufacturers for the accident, or any accident...

And I CERTAINLY don't want anything banned, as was stated some people need a big ute to move snow or dirt.....

But if you are going to make a 700-pound machine with an 800cc engine, at least gear it for a safe top speed, and don't market is as a roost spitting trail machine..... ...

Of course the user is 100% responsible for how these machines are used, but as the manufacturers try and create these hybrid sport/utes they create a market in itself that really didn't exist. I don't know who said it above but maybe a roll bar of some type is a good idea to create some space between the quad and the person under it.....

The sad reality is that people cannot take responsibility for their actions, they need to be spoon fed in today's society. So as much as it is buyer error and user error combined to create these accidents, people continue to do these things. People are generally ignorant of the realities and cannot police themselves. I don't want to see people get hurt for many reasons, tragedy aside; it is a black eye for the entire sport.

I don't want the moronic senators with nothing better to do to have any more ammo to go after us with........

I don't know the numbers, and maybe I'm imagining it, but it seems like there have been more massive injury and death on utility ATVs in the last few years compared to sport ATVs..... It used to be the other way around by a large margin, it was the sport quads that were thought to be more dangerous..... and I know there are a lot of variables involved here, more than just the size of the quad. But it seems that when people see racks and auto clutches they think that anyone can ride it.

And the apparent stability and comfort makes people feel too confident that the thing can't roll, I've actually heard people say "oh that thing weighs a ton it will never roll" where does that mentality come from?
