I've gotten up around 60 on a few quads on a wide open frozen pond. I don't feel the need to go any faster than that.

I just wanted to know what limits the speed to eighty and under if theres a law that limits it or if its an unwritten rule between manufacturers to keep the speeds under eighty.

Most quads dont go even close to 80mph because its not necessary or safe. If you want to go faster change the gearing. Where is it you ride that you think you could go 80mph?

 

Really, I don't think the tires are rated for that speed. There are whole lot of bias ply tires with knobby tread that are great at low speeds, but high speed no way.
