Default Full riding gear really necessary?

i use to feel the same way and i only wore helment and gloves, so after a couple of fractured ribbs thanks to my brother and chipped linear maliolis * outter ankle bone* i feel like the bare minimum should be a helment, goggles, gloves, and boots with real soles, not any thing cheap like what i use to run in, that added to my failed foot arch

A nice helmet , goggles and gloves are essential to having a good safe time riding.

But... if your wearing a chest protector and full colorful riding gear, and your not racing with nasty quads and or MX bikes, your a toolbag!

My favorite is the blue power ranger!!
