President Elect Obama

Come on, this kind of panic talk is just the kind of thing we don't need, remember, everyone, he was elected President, not dictator, no one man is going to walk in, snap his fingers, and take away everything you hold dear. That's why we have a House and Senate, to balance the power of the President. Yes, he can sign laws and appoint different people, but he still needs a majority to pass laws. No matter who won, we need to stay united as Americans and not start forming lynch mobs.

He isn't going to take guns. He wants to ban semi-auto weapons clearly intended for terristic use. The price of ammo wasn't his goal, it was tied to another bill that he was for, that happens all the time in washington. They pack a bill with a bunch of crap in order to get enough votes to get it passed.
I think you will see a turn around in the way our country opperetes. Hopefully no more BS about blacks not having any opportunity.
I'm proud that the colored boy won the election, I think it is what we need. Mccain sure wasn't the awnser, and his running mate isn't qualified to opperate a golf cart, how could she have run the country if she had to?

So we don't have to worry about anything because the house and senate are there to protect us? I'll bet the mortgage industry is just so pleased to hear that.

In a year or so remember this moment.
Haven't you people listened to some of the statements he has made??? Spread the wealth around!! National health care!!!! LOOK AT CANADA. Are you sure you want that?? And yes he and his party are for taking your guns away just like Canada and some other Countries. I just hope we have enough people in the House and Senate to stop or slow down some of the stuff comming down the pipe.

I think it all depends on which Obama we are going to see in the White House. Is it the; Illinois radical, friend of terrorist Ayers, student of Afro-centric pastor, ties with PLO leaders, banner of guns, allower of the murder of babies that survive abortion attempts, husband of "now I can be proud to be American" wife, perhaps not even a true citizen Obama, no drilling for oil, no use of coal, etc.??? Or, will it be the more "centrist" Obama that he portrayed himself to be? Time will tell. At least Bush had Supreme Court nominees that have shown some common sense. Oh, and about the war with Iraq; 100 metric tons of yellow cake uranium were found by the US and sold to Canada. That amount alone could have lead to the creation of approximately 160 nuclear devices. And, small amounts of chemical warfare agents were found. I think the worst thing that Bush and the Republicans did in the last 8 years is to not go for it. They ended up being big spenders, without spines to push through good legislation. I will be going to Bass Pro Shops to pick up some more items just in case. For those who say assault weapons are all they want to go after; a Ruger Mini-14 is essentially the same as an AR-15. The AR-15 was banned for further production under Clinton and went up in price 10 fold after the ban. Bush allowed the ban to expire and made it easier for law abiding citizens to get the firearm they wanted. What's the difference between so-called assault rifles and many semi-automatic rifles. Looks... Sadly, I think Obama will be worse than Clinton. He has a Democrat House and Senate to pass through anything he wants. Hold on to your wallets, your guns, and your freedoms. I hope we are wrong, but I live in Massachusetts and know where all this garbage leads. On the issue of race, I am truly color blind. I could care less where you come from and what hue your skin has. I DO care about issues that are clearly spelled out in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Obama's views on many of these precious, bought with blood, rights are contrary to the Framer's intents. An interesting read is the Federalist Papers. They provide the WHY to what the Framer's intended for this Republic. PS If it had been JC Watts or Alan Keyes I could have voted for them.

The uranium was sold to Canada to fuel their reactors that they use for electical power. Yet, another thing that won't happen here in the States. We'd rather grow broke buying oil from other countries than make nuclear power plants.

Well said Moose. We don't know exactly what we have elected. Only time will tell us that.
We do know, we have an extremely liberal almost anti-constitutional pair of leaders in the Senate and the House. They will push an agenda for sure. Bills strated being drafted a few weeks back to fix us in their greater plans.
Now we have placed a very charismatic, richly photogenic person in the WH, that comes from farther left than all of them, but you can't tell what is really behind the charisma and the media push that says this person has suddenly become a centrist.
At this point we must Pray that this man will gain some insight and lead this country forward into becoming again the Great Nation of the United States of America.
I would have voted for Alan or JC too.
