Sweet merciful crap. I have seen more political illiteracy and abject historical ignorance in this thread that I thought was possible.
Do people do even the most basic cursory research into a candidates positions and past votes before they vote? Seriously. Have people taken even a elementary school history course? Even been paying attention the past 15 or 20 years? Have even rudimentary civics knowledge?
As for leaving the US. No. Those who wish to live under statist, totalitarian socialism have an entire planet of countries to live in. There was ONE nation on this earth in which a man could live in Freedom and exercise his God given Liberty. One. If people wish to live contrary to those ideals by all means they should move to one of those nations.
If anything we're rapidly reaching a point where there must be some form of separation. Those who yearn for European style socialism and nannyistic tyranny should be free to live on their knees and embrace the chains of the state. Those of us who cannot - who will not - live with a jackboot on our necks need to be free to live under the Republican (no not the party-look it up - the US is a Constitutional Republic not a Democracy) form of government and be free of the chains of oppression. It's not a Democrat thing. It's not a Republican thing. It's a Liberty thing.
As The Declaration Of Independence states :
"When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bonds which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We're rapidly reaching a point where there is a need "for one people to dissolve the political bonds which have connected them with another". The opposing philosophies and life ways are far, far too different and wholly incompatible with one another. Read the list of grievances against King George The Third in The Declaration Of Independence. We're far more aggrieved now by our own state than we ever were by King George The Third.

I see no reason to lock this thread. Just as you had a choice in voting, you don't have to click on this topic.
