I'd like them to ban hand guns and stop making ammo for them I myself don't see a need for them .</end quote></div>

There are plenty of countries out there that share this opinion. You could move to one of them.</end quote></div>

Mexico is one of them!

I have a CCW permit. I carry a Beretta with me at all times. There is no point to hand guns? I had a guy try to open my passenger door at a traffic light. A quick flash of the holster and he was on his way. The Beretta is not the most powerful gun but it will scare someone.

and DODGE57HEMI broncos as in denver?</end quote></div>

Relax.... as a big proponent for the 2nd Amendment I can assure you it is not as bad as everyone says....

Obama is not going to take our guns, nor our pistols..... The only thing on the verge of being installed is the already state enacted Assault Weapons Ban or AWB. This has already been enacted under Clinton but was repealed by Bush. So chances are it will go back into effect. But it does not affect pistols, and it only affects high caliber, high capacity automatic assault rifles.

Obama voted for a ban on CCW within city limits, but the fact is most cities already have a similarly imposed state ban. I am licensed to carry in NY but I cannot carry inside NYC...... Unless I get approved in every specific district I wish to carry......

Fact is people need to realize that the Democrats have NEVER had this kind of majority and they've wanted it for decades. They are not going to mess it up and do something stupid and give it away. Sorry they are not going to make it that easy for the GOP to get back on top.

Obama will have to walk the line in the middle of the road. If he goes too far left he will not get anything done. Every president in history has been elected by the middle of the road voters.... not the extreme left of right but right in the middle.... it will be the Dems who are the first to turn on Obama should he start doing something stupid because they are the LAST people who want to give the GOP a foot in the door come the next election.......

All these people that think he's going to take our guns and stuff. The President does not make all the decisions. There are about another 100 people that I have to agree with him to make stuff happen. Every time there is a new president people talk about how horrible it will be...then leave. If you don't like how our country is ran, pack your bags and go live in Mexico.</end quote></div>

I was thinking about moving to australia.

Problem is that criminals are not stopped by gun laws.... and they would not be stopped by gun bans..... there are already a thousand years worth of black market guns on the streets and they will never diminish.

Every law abiding citizen has the right to protect themselves and their family and a handgun in the hands of a trained person is a very effective tool to do that. Gun ownership is a huge responsibility and those that cannot handle it should not have them..... but there are many many Americans who own handguns that are as safe as any drill in the garage or steak knife in the drawer.

If just ONE person in those flights on 9/11 had been allowed to CCW on that plane history might have been very different. They hijacked planes with box cutters.....because they KNEW that no one on the plane could have gun. And there are any number of personal defense rounds that would be too soft to penetrate any walls in an airplane......besides who could not hit a human target from arms length, lets not forget....box cutters.....

The Virginia Tech shooter would have been stopped cold had any number of licensed CCW students been allowed to carry on campus. Several have come out and made that exact point since. One student cried about how he was so close but had no way to stop the killer or save lives. That says something. But again the shooter knew he would meet zero resistance so that is why he was able to casually walk around and stop and reload.......

These are extreme points I know, but they make a point..... and that point is that gun laws only give advantage to the criminals....... the police are there to protect us and they do an excellent job..... but the police by nature are reactionary. They are reactive, not pro-active..... generally by the time the police arrive the bad stuff has already happened.

Violent crimes have NOT gone down as gun laws have gotten more strict. A lot of that is because in many places crooks know that a pistol is an upper hand. I like an even playing field when it comes to unlawful ideals. And anyone who wants to take the responsibility of CCW and learning how to use it properly, and have been screened and tested, by all means it cannot hurt at this point.

Check out this link, watch the video at the bottom..... it makes a great point..

Stoopidbot,

You're right, the President doesn't do that. He does it with a liberal senate and house without the ability to filibuster. The Supreme Court nominations will be devastating for decades and will likely affect each and every person here that uses public or private land to recreate on with their motorized vehicles.

On a side note, I am truly saddened by the massive number of people living in this day and age that voted based entirely on the color of one's skin.

I wouldn't be too worried. There also have been presidents who were worse than George W. In order to take our guns away, a constitutional amendment would have to be added. Do you remember the ERA for women? How long was that kicked around and failed.

Go fill up with gas and take a ride.

Don't waste your energies on something that hasn't happened and probably won't.
There are too many things in our lives that are happening that need our attention.

Bush did not "repeal" the "Assault Weapons Ban", there was a "Sunset clause" of ten years which ended in 2004 and after the Department of Justice Report showed no affect on crime, no one introduced a reauthorization bill which Bush said he would sign if it got to his desk.

In truth there has been an "Assault Weapon Ban" since the thirties as a true "Assault Weapon" is one with selective fire capabilities of full automatic or semi automatic. None of the weapons covered by the Clinton Ban had this capability as they were identical in operation to a regular sporting rifle such as my wife's 742 Deer Rifle or a Ruger Mini 14.

Obama has gone on record as supporting a federal law to prohibit CCW.

Do some research and don't try to tell me the Second amendment is not in danger from Obama.

You guys worry all you want about the 2nd, it's not going anywhere. Every 4 years there is some big panic by all the people who's candidate didn't win. They always think all of our rights are gonna go away and we are gonna turn into a 3rd world country this and that. It is all hype.
