I got out of the trades, tired of getting laid off and dealing with union BS- back to school and did a complete 180 on my career- now I'm in biotechnology and have been working for one of the largest biotech research companies in the world- no shortage of jobs in this field, we're looking for a lab tech ($21.75 hr- no college degree needed) and a QC Microbiologist right now (2-4 years school, $26.75 - $44 hr)

Extra work was at $60.00 per hour.
Now I still bid but as per piece (each door, window, etc.) and I've lowered my rate to $40.00 per hour. Sounds great but there is not much work to be found no matter what your rate is (unless you're a messycan or russian)
