Cheaper helmets?

That's how I buy all my street helmets. Rather than making a list, here's a link from google.
I'd be sure it's a least DOT rated, if not Snell or ECE 22.05 too.
I will ad this link, because I've used them in the past and you'd never think they had off road helmets going by their name.

I don't know if I would want to buy the absolute cheapest helmet I could get. Some of them are outrageously expensive though, the high end ones are $500 or more. I guess as long as its dot approved, it will keep you from scrambling your brains in a crash. A lot of them in the $50 range though. Even if it only lasts for one crash, it did its job.

The last street helmet (Scorpion) I had, I scratched the visor. Again. 45 bucks for the visor alone. Got a new Scorpion EXO 1100 shipped to the house for $48 and free shipping. Discontinued model, like that matters to me.

I got my last helmet from the Sportsman's Guide catalog. I think it was a closeout for about 40 or 50 bucks. It's a Mossi brand which I never heard of but it's DOT approved. My friends bought helmets at a local sporting goods store. I don't know how much they paid but they got a chance to try them on first. | Sportsman's Guide

Thanks everybody. Lots to take in and too pressed for time planning the upcoming trip, So I went ahead and pulled the trigger on an AFX FX-41. Cheap at $160 and decent features, although not the highest quality. Only DOT approved though. Guess I'll be asking for a SNELL approved helmet for Christmas.
