What some of the states in New England are doing is making people with tracks on quads or side by sides pay the snowmobile registration fee. So they pay for the ATV registration and then the snowmobile for winter. Personally, I'd rather be on a sled. Only thing that would get me to buy tracks is if I did power line inspections or something like that where terrain can be too nasty for a regular quad.

We told our sons we will help with college as long as you are learning to DO SOMETHING. STEM related coursework helps land a better paying job.

Nice to see a college is offering a program where a person can learn to do something. ATVs are rather complex. The techs who participate in these Forums, especially Old Polaris Tech, know there stuff and enjoy diagnosing a problem with limited descriptions, like "won't start".

It might be tough to get a 4 year degree in ATV/UTV mechanics as I would think the tech schools would be better equipped to provide the training and at a lower tuition cost.

I always thought I would like a career in mechanics; like diesel mechanics, or auto tech, and yes, working on ATVs would be fun for me. And it would likely earn a solid income.
