New rider on board!

I totally agree with roost king.
Although all the bikes listed are graet ones, for the price, the blaster is the best, not to mention the simplest. A beat up four stroke can not only get expensive to bring back to life, but very confusing for a new rider.
The blaster is simple, and probably one of the cheapest as far as initial cost and parts.
Not to mention you will learn so much from working on your blaster, it will better help in your future quad indevers

Believe it or not $1600.00 Warriors do exist,Granted you must know what to look for when buying one so you don't get screwed. But I my self have seen good quality warriors 87,88,89yr models for as low as $1400.00. The good thing about Warriors and Banshee's is that they've changed very little since 1987. So if you can find one that is in pretty good mechanical shape,It really does'nt matter what year it is. Put some new plastic on it(which is cheap)and Walla. The Blaster is a fun and light little Quad, but if you are not done growing you will soon out-grow this machine. Good luck and have fun whatever you decide.

Hey thanks everyone for all the good info esp. Gaff. LT80 i would like a 300ex but right now im on a budget. As soon as i feel comfortable enough ill get a bigger quad. Are the brakes really that bad on the blasters im only weigh a buck fifty?

when we all only had drum brakes no not bad but now all of us have disc brakes yah real bad.
Thier not good but if you don't have much riding experience you probably can't tell.
The blaster is a good exciting quad that the braek issue will probably have to be adressed as soon as you buy one (used I'm speaking of)
Now don't get me wrong, if you look close you can find a mojave 250 or a 300ex out thier in your price range, but they do have a rear disc braek up grade for the blaster for $300, I know kinda steep.
Off hand I can't tell you one bad thing about any bike that has been mentioned.
Knowing your budget and will to ride, a blaster is a graet bike, if you find any other in that price range, you know, go take a look at it, it may be a deal.
But what ever one you go with, make a real good inspection of the frame, and if it is real clean more than likely thats the way it has been kept.
We all are very spoiled and older now, and we all seem to nit pick all the quads, but realy thier all pretty damn fun and I can't think of any you won't enjoy.
I had a talk with my nephew before christmas, and all he would come over and tell me was his friends at school had this that and the other thing to say about every quad he went and looked at, and the best thing I could tell him was it doesn't matter thier all fun.
Well he bought a recon cheap in good shape, and he loves it, hasn't had one bad ride on it yet.
Hay even if you get a raptor your gonna want mods, more power, more speed.
Get one, experience the experience and in another year or two you will know exactly what you want.
Wouldn't you agree LT

Blasters are TOATAL junk.Terrable brakes, lousy oil injection system, motors need rebuilt every year.I know this from experiance we had one and it was more of a pain than both my polaris put together.Granted you can remidythe brakes with a hydrolic upgrade, and fix the injecter by removeing it.But by the time you do the brakes you have spent enough more cash to get a good used Warrior or 300ex.

I justhad real bad luck with it.My wife rode it mostly and didnt understand that a 2 stroke had to be riden hard not dogged around in the higher gears.Another minus on the Blasters is the lack of grond clearance. On the pluss side when they are running you cant beat one for wheelies and play riding. When i sold mine it had a fresh topend and had the brakes working.Gave it a new home for $900 and felt bad for the guy who got it.You can find all quads for less than a grand if you lok and dont mind to fix them.
