Recently the ATV club I belong to has hosted several riding events. And people who attend really do a good job of trashing the park grounds. The club tries to keep the park clean but when you have hundreds of people trashing the place it gets hard to keep it clean. I am afraid that the park will close because of this. The grounds are privately owned and the club leases the property.

I and other members have noticed that the majority of the people trashing the place are people who come the day to ride and leave without there trash. Even though we have signs posted everywhere. But the people who come to ride and camp tend to keep their camp area clean and they take their garbage with them. Why cant everyone clean up after themselves. If they cant then they need to bring there mothers with them.

People who litter when atving are just hurting the sport and will give are opponents something else to gripe about and use against us to close more riding areas down. Everyone needs to act more responsible.

What should we do?

We have the same problem in CA. It's not an easy issue either! Only thing I can think of is take time out of your riding day to ask people to pick up trash, maybe even bring them a trash bag.
You could also get rangers/the law involved. That is not a thing I would want to do but sometimes it's needed!

Good luck.
