I CAN'T BELIEVE NO RUBICON OWNER HAS MADE A STATEMENT ABOUT THEIR BIKE. I GUESS NO ONE CAN GET ONE! WHEN THEY DO THEY PROBABLY WON'T TAKE IT OUT BECAUSE IT'S "TOO EXPENSIVE TO GET MUDDY". MIGHT TAKE THE WIFE OUT TO DINNER IN IT. REALLY--- WHERE ARE ALL THE RUBICONS? DO YOU HAVE TO ORDER ONE AND THEN THAT'S WHEN THEY START BUILDING ONE.

Atving, I remember someone saying $1400 in price difference. Dealers are saying $6999 MSRP, it's up to the individual to get the best deal from here . . . same as when you buy your sportsman.

What's your opinion on the new Rubicon?
Same as any other quad. Get on it and ride it. If you like it buy it, if it's too much money or not as good as what you ride now, leave it . It ain't rocket science. All this speculation is just nonsense.

Speaking of speculation I offer the following;

The amazing part of the new Honda is the "NEW" automatic transmission, it AINT new, these Hydrostat trannys have been around for 30 years, used in lawn and garden equipment even large farm tractors.(Large farm tractors no longer use it due to horsepower loss and fuel burn increase)

The part that interests me is the horsepower needed to turn this NEW tranny. In your average lawn tractor it takes an additional 3-5 HP to run with the standard tranny types, meaning it takes a 15 HP lawn tractor with the hydrosatat to work with a 10 HP geared tractor. Either way its gonna be interesting but I feel the Rubicon will need about 50% more engine to "feel" about right.

Oh yes, brakes, you bet any improvement on brakes on the Foreman series would be a nice touch!

I had a 450ES did fine but prefer the Traxter which I now use for a work horse.

Now what were you saying about how good at dealing making you are depends on the price well after reading the above post looks like you will get lucky to get by with a $1400 difference for that SPECIAL EDITION...give me a break.
