Default Kill switch question

The ASDA requires me to have a tether style kill switch to compete, I installed it on my Quad that has a GS 1000 engine in it, I thought that I would just hook it between the key and the coils and when it was pulled it would disconnect power and kill the engine, But the switch is designed to ground out the coils when pulled ( backwards of what I am trying to use it for ) How do I wire it to ground the coils.

I hooked mine to the kick stand switch. Most Zuk's have a kick stand switch. You wire it to day and it makes the motor think the kickstand is down. Or just put a screw in the engine kill switch on the bars. When you pull up it will kill the motor. Hope that helps

Cheers

Nope, It's stripped down to the bare bones, I need to wire it to the coils somehow.

Use a 30 amp relay and reverse the polarity to the kill switch using the kill switch as the kill switch as the ground. The tether is pulled killing the ground and cutting the 12 volt source to the ign. killing the motor. I should have read more into your post.

Cheers

You need to ground the + terminal of the coil(s). If you have more than one coil, you need to run a parallel wire to both + terminals from one side of the tether switch. When the tether is pulled, the switch closes and connects ground to the + terminal of the coil so it can't generate any spark.

Is it going to interfear with the coils if they are both wired together?
