Default best sprocket manufacturer?

Ok Crobiker,

Here's a good example of choosing what you think is right. The guy before me recommended Sprocket Specialists. I bought a front and rear sprocket for my Predator from them in the last 6 months. BOTH sprockets were worn completely out within two weeks. Does that mean Sprocket Specialists suck? No, just means I'm not shopping there because of the two bad ones I got. There are riders on here that have good luck with them, but I didn't.

A worn sprocket can be many things. The metal its made of, the bearing carrier being worn, or the chain being too loose. But I suspect if it wore out in just two weeks, it may be the bearing carrier or the chain. IMHO. I am not a fan of Aluminum sprockets, yet, many of my customers buy them because of the weight savings. They can wear out pretty quickly - within a riding season for most. I think steel, tool steel, or Stainless steel is a good material to make sprockets out of. But, they are not as light as aluminum.
