Hello fellas.. This is for anyone but a while back Brandon you told me that you recommended a set of the lrd 30mm carbs for my banshee. I hear all kinds of other news like I could run 34's pwks and 33's and so on. What is the down side if I go to 33's or 34's or 30's?? I have a ad in the classified section and have been getting some replies for 34's and 33's. Weekend was good for riding but had a lot of problems with my carbs since I put that idle kit on, carbs keep falling out of sync. I know it's the idle kit cause I don't have alot of room for adjustment. was planning on going bigger eventually but may not wait. Let's hear some advice on size fellas??????

I like smaller carbs for all around riding, and especially for engines with little or no port work. Be very specific and tell me what kind of riding you are doing and if your motor is ported. Most engines do not need really big carbs. My cylinders are so hogged out that they require the use of bigger carbs. I would think that you wouldnt need anything bigger than the 33's. I really like the 30's though. They are really good on bottom and pull nicely on top.

Brandon, I mainly trail ride but like the dunes for racing. I would like to be able to have both. I plan on doing more dunes this year than in the past. No porting yet but am still considering my options. Vito's is only 45 minutes from me but OhtronRacing sounds like he really knows his stuff. Coolhead with 17cc domes, 10 over weisco's, larger bearings on crank and some machining on crank, not sure exactly what was done to it. 400 bucks though. prodesign timing advance +4, Graydon pipes with boost bottle, trinity shifter star, delta v reeds, amplink with holeshots for the trail and haulers for the sand. twist throttle and running a 15 tooth front and 38 rear, have 42 as well. Like the idea of the pwk 30's for the reason you stated and wouldn't want to sacrifice low end for huge top end.

I really think you should go with the 30's or even the 28's. The 30's are just bored out 28's. I like them becuase they give the awesome throttle response and acceleration of the pwk, but arent so big as to quinch bottom end power. These are my choice. You may even want to play with that timeing some, maybe try 5 or 6 degrees if you still want a little more snap in the band. Be carful though and watch the jeting. More advancement requires fatter jetting. You know you may be better off with the 28's, being you havent been ported yet. They will still work great after porting. Ohton does know his stuff and would be an excellent choice. I've talked to some people and his stuff is fast. I dont really know much abvout Vito, I've talked to him once. He knows allot, but I disagree with him on a few things. Good luck. Hey did you notice a difference with the advanced timing?

Brandon, I did notice a difference on the timing advance. Will be looking for some 30's since I plan on porting and don't want to waste the money on 28's. Thanks and I'll let you know what happens.
