The technology is already better. 2005 Ski Doo Mach Z. 1000cc Semi-direct injection 2-stroke twin. 165 reliable, warrantied horsepower right from the factory. The REALLY cool thing is that it was de-tuned to provide great fuel mileage (as far as sleds go) and can be bumped up to 195 hp by changing nothing more than the ecu programming. 2-strokes will be here for a looooooong time!

You didn't specify any market segment. You just asked an ill-informed question as to the technology getting better. The technology is in watercraft, outboards and snowmobiles. Will it come to atvs? Who knows! But don't make an *** out of yourself trying to tell people that 2-stroke tech is dead!

If we have a 1986 Honda 250R right now, then why wouldnt it be possible for me to have my 2000 Banshee in 10 years?I dont see any problems still getting parts for those with how many are out there, and especially including aftermarket parts.

you already have 800cc 4-strokes and they still cant beat 350cc 2-strokes. What more do you want?
DrDune, you going to pismo for 4th? There wont be a 4-stroke even in contention. As of right now there will be 2 16mm cheetah banshee's, 1 16mm t-rex, 4 14mm cheetah/t-rex, 1 billet case/rotax cylindered matoon banshee, 2 crankensteins, and 1 triple t-rex. The 4-strokes will be lucky to play on the same side of the flats
