twist throttle
#1
i installed a twist throttle on my warrior about 2 months ago, thinking it would be the same, or at least close to the same as a bike - i'm not too sure at this point. I'm not exactly counting, but i've shortened the lives of several trees already. It seems way to hard to control the throttle after landing a jump, or while riding wheelies - probly has something to do with the difference in weight distribution - i dunno. My thumb definitely likes the twist better though. Anybody else ride with a twist? Does it just take a little more getting used to on a quad?

You just named the big negative of the twist throttle in my opinion...Thats the downside...sometimes it gets away from you...I've seen guys try to climb hills and they start fall off their quad...but they can't let go of the throttle because their hands are hanging on and I've seen some guys throttle their quads right over them..but ya give it time and it'll be natural to you...and I bet your thumb does like you a lot better now!

i prefer the twist throttle. i dont have carple tunnle any more. and one time i hit a jump landed too far to the side so i grabbed real tight to the handle bar and in doing so i squished the thumb throttle and my bike took off w/ out me. wow what a rush

I had a hard time getting used to mine when I first installed it. After a few months of riding it seems alot better and now when I get back on a quad with thumb it feels weird. I know what you mean about the tree thing, and climbing hills, but you just got to give it time.
My twist throttle from motion pro is made to stop that sort of things. It only moves about a inch so that you dont accidently twist it too far. its alot easier to control because you can slam it back easily if you are climbing hills and it gets out of control.
