Wheelie Bars

Wheelie Bars
there's a guy in this forum who has a wheelie bar on his quad. i think its a quadzilla, but i'm not sure, he was gonna put an 1100cc motor in it. if i can remember who he is, or see his pic, i'll post the info. the strongest way to set up a wheelie bar would be connecting the bottom section to the swingarm, and the top to the sub-frame. the problem with this setup is that you eliminate your suspension, and if u don't eliminate your rear suspension, you could break the bar. just make sure that you have a lower, and higher mounting point so that the bar won't pivot.

I have a DS650 up here at my shop ( installing new bearings in the rear ) that has a wheelie bar on it. Its a very different set-up. what they did was basially build a new grab bar, made it about a foot longer and added to small wheels in it. It sounds odd but it works really well ( i rode it around in the parking lot before i tore it down, but its a freinds so he dont really mind ). If you are interested in something like this let me know and i will take a picture of it and send it to you.

I'm making mine right now... you need to know what type of tracks you will be racing on... mine will have a different set up for racing on asphalt, grass / dirt, & sand... there will be 3 types & sizes of wheels... to race on asphalt, it is recommended to have a 2 wheel bar, & on hard dirt / grass strips, 1 or 2 wheels, & in sand, only one wheel... I wiil be using skate board wheels for the 2 wheel set up for the asphalt, & one wide pallet jack front roller for dirt, & 2 ( side by side ) 7" rear pallet jack wheels for sand... to hook to the quad, I made a custom reciever hitch that mounted onto the stock hitch ( you could mount it to your skid plate as well )... this will make it very easy to remove... the wheel end is fully adjustable ... you can see a few drag race pics by clicking the camera Icon ... I may have one in there next week, with the wheelie bar, if it doesn't rain on Saturday...

If you want to look at one or buy one, I have seen them on (www.threegwheeliebar.com). They look kinda funky to me, but hey what ever floats your boat!
