Thinking about a drag ATV
you can get a 400cc 250r to run 75 in 100 yards. To be more accurate on what you can get and what you'll want you need to tell me/us what you want to spend. You cant go in and spend 5g and expect to get a competitive bike. If you want to do it right and build up from the frame you're looking at 15g, if you buy a bike expect to spend 10g for a decently strong bike

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

ive only been around the drag racing sceen for the past 3 years, ive yet to see any R6 post a sub 4 second pass, or set any track/world records. You take a GSXR though and they run very well. Slow might not be the correct term for the R6, but fast is not correct either. Then again, my fast and your fast are probably two totally different things. Hope that helps subdue your humor

Dabeachman,
What would be nice, is to find a complete racer (less engine) from someone getting out of the racket totally. There are too many odds and ends needed to start off from the ground up the first year. It would be nice to find this part of the equasion for somewhere between $4000 - $5000. I would like about the same budget for the engine dept. I am kind of fussy about the engine, so I would rather have fresh than used. I figured somewhere in the neighborhood of $10,000 to be extremely competative.
I did have chance to talk to a guy who races at the track I spoke of. He told me it is 400 feet in length.
As I said before, most of the racers are showing up with moderate equiptment, and the winners are posting low 80mph speeds. Maybe I am a bit off the wall here, but those kind of speeds don't stike me as unatainable. My back ground in racing comes mostly from the stockcar racing (years ago), and this just looks kind of fun.
