Just looking for some more power that I can do myslef. I'm not up to the $400 to have it professionally done yet, but was wondering if anyone has JUST polished the ports?

Would it help any?

Thanks in advance.
Martin

I haven't done just the polishing but polishing the exhaust port will give it slightly better flow plus prevent any carbon buildup. Other than the exhaust you don't want to polish any of the other ports. The intake port and transfer ports should be rough so that it helps to atomize the fuel better. There's a lot you can do to the intake and exhaust ports if you have the tools. I've ported several banshees and 250r's before with my own tools. It takes a while but worth it in the end. For about $150 you can get some Foredom tools and bits. Jeff

If you dont have the money then do not try it yourself. Especially if youy are not well versed in two stroke theory. Thousands of inches mean hundreds of rpms. You can disrupt the angles of the ports and decrease velocity, Shift the rpm's too far one way, and ruin pistons. I totaly agree with the polishing advice of the previous post. It really isnt worth polishing the exhaust for the gain you will see though. Look at some other places to have the motor ported, you cna find a good deal for well under 400$. Ohton Racing is one, and C&O is also relatively cheap.
