$3700 isn't that bad for a big honda motor, an ESR 370 is about the same price. The Honda's are fun, I have one and I enjoy being the underdog at the drags (beating the shee's with a one-lunger). A well ported alky 265 can run with most normal banshees. Normal meaning stock stroke and ported factory cylinders. If you are wanting to build a drag bike, I recommend the Banshee. They are the easiest to go fast on. 250R's need lots of work to run with the bigger motors, zilla's don't rev enough for a good drag bike and like to break parts, four strokes can get very expensive quickly, and show relativley small gains for big money (ex. $400-500 to port a YFZ450 and you only gain 3 extra hp.) Just build a good ported 350cc banshee with factory cylinders, pipes, carbs, heads, and a maybe a longer swingarm. $3000 for the banshee+$2500 in parts=65-70 hp and lots of fun. For your first drag bike, don't go all out. Just build for fun (bracket racing) and see where it gets you, you can always build it to be faster down the road.

You guys have to remember that for that price, the sabertooth includes the cylinder/head/piston kit, new crank, reeds, intake and exhaust manifold, pipe, carb, CDI, and the lockup.

dont mean to change the subject .... but wouldnt a raptor or some other 1 cylinder bike cost less to modify, i would think because theres two of everything to buy on a banshee... heads, domes, pistons, carburetors, filters pipes, and so forth ... idk just curious .. thanks
