i heard the it is better to go with a smaller sprocket in the rear than going with a larger one in the front is that true

Change the front sprocket it makes more of a difference. Small give to more low en and larger give use more top end. For the back sprocket its the opposite.

the rear sprocket is to basically fine tune the gearing

front sprockets are cheaper. since it is a smaller sprocket just 2 teeth change will make a big difference

as for sprockets it takes 3 teeth in the rear to equal 1 in the front
the rear is for fine tuning how much power or torque you have
1 tooth in the front up will give you top end speed, 1 down will give you torque
I run 13/39 so I have the torque but not as much if I was running a 13/40
I used to want to go as fast as I could get but after crashing at 51mph 1 month ago
I would rather have the torque then the speed

it isn't cause I wana go fast it is cuse i wana get traction all i do is spin I was told the kit that I had built was going to give me 58-65 hp and I don't know about torque
